Etsy Mini – Bite-Sized Way to Connect with Buyers

Etsy Mini – Bite-Sized Way to Connect with Buyers

“Etsy Mini” is a great marketing tool created by Etsy to allow sellers to show items in their Etsy shop on website that are not affiliated with Etsy.com.

Our HandmadeMarketing.org team suggests looking into Etsy Mini for your shop, or your street team, if you tend to frequent blogs or other websites outside the Etsy sphere.

So… how does Etsy Mini work?

Sellers add photos of shop items to Etsy Mini and then paste (or link) the mini to websites (think your blog, EtsyLove.Ning.com, MySpace, etc.)  The “mini” will also change with the shop inventory as your shop changes on Etsy.com – so no need to worry about retracing your steps to make sure potential buyers aren’t confused.  Once the link is up, you’re set!

You love it as much as we do, right?  Here’s how to get started.  Just go to “Your Etsy” and click over to “Etsy Mini”.  The tool is user-friendly and easy to follow – just stock the “favorites” with your items.  This can be done for your Etsy shop individually or for your entire Etsy street team, whichever you prefer.  Best of all, this tool is free – thanks Etsy.com!

Many Etsy sellers we have talked to absolutely love Etsy Mini and swear there is no better, more efficient way to venture outside Etsy.com and make sales.  Our team thinks it’s an awesome way to give potential buyers a quick, attention grabbing snap-shot of your shop!

Do you use Etsy Mini for free Etsy advertising?  Where do you put your Etsy Mini?  Do you know of another effective way to advertise your handmade items online or offline?

Get creative with your shop press!  Tell us your ideas about snagging free Etsy advertising.  If our editors like your ideas, we’ll feature you in an HandmadeMarketing.org article.  Just click “Join” and write away!

The Etsy Mini application is awesome! I’ve posted it on MySpace, but wanted to know what other social service networks it works with? I’ve been trying to find a way to put the Etsy Mini link on my Facebook page but it doesn’t seem to be working. Any hints?

    Thanks!

    Hi Carezza!

There is actually an Etsy application for Facebook that allows you to add a mini to your profile or fan page. Just search “etsy” and choose “applications” in the results. It will walk you through what you need to do!
