I have a Facebook fan page and have had great success promoting my Etsy page. Once my friends "fan" the page I can comment on their pages which increases my awareness with their friends. I can send fans updates from the page, upload pictures of my inventory, add events I'll be at and post the link to my profile every once in a while to solicit more fans. I set up Google analytics to track hits to my Etsy page. Right now, Facebook is my second most popular source for referral visits.
