There doesn’t seem to be a “silver bullet” when it comes to selling online. I like having an Etsy storefront to post items, encourage community and (importantly) handle the payment transactions. I also like having my own site where I can post topics about ideas and additional product information.

I found this awesome thread on the Etsy forums talking about domain names and the value of using a domain with your etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=6205294 They also recommend some company called DownDoggy.com My friend says they are a good company.

I recently purchased a domain name from godaddy, and haven’t used it yet. I need to jump in feet first. I think that being able to have buyers jump from your blog, flickr or youtube or fbk is so great! I see it everywhere that I’ve visited. I need to get over being shy though, and ask folks if they’d like to swap. Also need to conquor the widget thing.. I will make it!

I agree to ~ and it works both ways. Those who visit my web, click on my etsy and blog sites. Those who visit my blog can click on web or etsy….
