Time – Keep Up Etsy While Keeping Your Life
Between managing an Etsy shop and “the rest of life”, most Etsians would have to admit they have overwhelmed once in awhile – and many would say “overwhelmed” is an understatement!
Need some ideas for how to manage your time and get the biggest bang for your shop marketing buck? Focus your efforts like our HandmadeMarketing.org readers suggest:
- HandmadeMarketing.org reader Amy Vander Vorste from Avlor Imprints on Etsy told us her tips for juggling it all in her article about “Eating a Marketing Elephant“. Turns out it’s one bite at a time! Take a look at this great article if you haven’t already.
- Hillary Schlthorpe from the Etsy shop Antebelle has some wonderful ideas to help maximize the efficiency of the time you spend on Etsy.com. “Set up multiple listings when you have time!” Hillary told us. “Set them up all the way to the “Finish” step, but do not hit finish. Bookmark the page and throughout the week (or at whatever frequency you wish) just open up the page and hit finish! Since I have a full time job, this works out great for me! I set up a few listings on Sunday and then at night when I get home from work I just have to push the button! Daily listing made easy!” Genius!
- Etsy seller Stacy Roehrs, from BellasSweetBoutique, suggests doing a big thing right to save time later. “Take the time, and possibly cash, to create a great Etsy shop banner. This is the first thing that your customers see when they enter your shop.” Although it may take time to research banner designers, this could save you time struggling to get your shop noticed. Look no further than Etsy.com for banner and avatar designers! Read how HandmadeMarketing.org reader Cyd agrees with Stacy in “Banner Up – The Feel of Your Shop“.

I’ve been doing a similar thing with listings. I write them up in imformation management/note taking software that I have on both computers (desktop and laptop). I save the file in my Dropbox folder where they get synced on both computers. Then I can work on listings at home or away.
I use MyInfo for my note taking software, but there’s serveral other great ones like OneNote and Evernote (free). All my plans, ideas, to dos, everything goes into the MyInfo file. And it’s easy organizable once its in there.
Dropbox is a great free service for sharing files across computers. No affilation. I just don’t know what I’d do with out it.
Just my $.02.
I found listing everyday makes a big difference in my etsy shop and I do keep several listing as drafts and then post them every day – the first thing in the morning, at least I try to.
