Google AdWords – Top Keywords For Your Shop
Ever wondered how many times someone has searched for “Etsy”, “1000 Markets”, “Artfire”, “Handmade Clothing” or “Handmade Jewelry” in Google? Take a look at this tool offered by Google!
Use this tool to see words that potential buyers may search for online.
Our challenge to you: Find out what you top 10 keywords for this next season will be! What is searched for the most? What words could you utilize that can set you apart from other stores in your category?
Once you have your list of 10, here’s what you can do:
- Use Them on Etsy.com and Beyond Make sure to utilize those words in your item descriptions, item tags, blogging, and in website text.
- Branch Out You may be surprised how many people may be searching for something that is close to an item you already make. Take a chance with your Etsy shop! Start marketing your currently branded “western jewelry” as, say, “cowboy jewelry” if that keyword is searched for more often.
- Anticipate Trends See if you can find a pattern for your Etsy shop. Do you see anything that seems to be searched a lot, but no one is capitalizing on? Whether it be adding a new item, or just changing your current item’s tags and descriptions, make sure you are ahead of the trends in searching. A perfect example… how many people are searching for “depression recipes” anticipating a second great depression in the future?
What are some of the keywords that caught your eye? We would love to hear your comments or submit a keyword tip of your own by joining HandmadeMarketing.org!
