Facebook Etsy Shop Application – Step by Step
Facebook is an exciting (and free!) online tool to help you market your Etsy shop. HandmadeMarketing.org reader Elizabeth, from Etsy shop Suite Life, was kind enough to send over a tip walking us through Facebook. There’s no excuse – get a Facebook page!
“Facebook is something simple to use that can truly increase sales and brand recognition of your Etsy shop,” Elizabeth said. “Within a few days of adding the etsy app to my personal page I sold 3 items. Within 2 days of adding a business/fan page for my shop, I had more than 50 fans!”
Why create a business/fan page for your handmade shop at Facebook.com? Facebook is yet another easy to manage tool to market outside of your selling platform and encourage others to buy handmade. Not every potential customer is shopping on Etsy, Artfire, 1000 Markets, etc. – or has even heard of these site for that matter! Why limit your marketing to one site when you can branch out easily to other websites?
When someone likes your shop-centered Facebook page, they will become a “fan” of you. Many times, the users allow their friends to see who they are “fans” of on their Facebook page. What great about this? The feature give other Facebook members the opportunity to market for you!
The best part about Facebook is it doesn’t require much effort to get potential customers to see your shop. Once your family and friends become a “fan” of your business Facebook page, your shop will get more and more exposure.
Think you don’t have the skills to set up a Facebook page for your Etsy shop? “Don’t get discouraged! If you can set up an Etsy shop,” Elizabeth says, “you can set up a facebook page!”
Elizabeth has put together a step-by-step tutorial on how to add the Etsy application to your page and how to create a business/fan page on Facebook. In this post, we will discuss how to add the Etsy application to your existing personal Facebook page.
Already have a personal Facebook page? Add the Etsy application to show off your Etsy items to all your friends and family! Elizabeth has easy to follow steps:
“The best part?” Elizabeth says, “Friends see items they like on your page and it will send them directly to your Etsy shop.” Facebook is hard at work marketing your items – even while you sleep!
Thanks Elizabeth!

I can add the plug in but the store is not on the wall nor an option to place it in the box. Does anyone know? There is little information on this.
Thanks.
Hello,
I enjoyed your article but am still puzzeled as to the difference between having a etsy profile tab and a etsy fan page.
to put up my own etsy products on my facebook page, it would make most sense to “add it to the profile page,” correct?
THanks!!
I just tried to add it and it’s telling me “The developer of this application does not currently allow it to be added.”
